The Florida SBDC Network (FSBDCN) Annual Professional Development Conference is scheduled for June 14-17 at the Marriott Sanibel Harbour Resort & Spa in Fort Myers. Meeting our conference goals is important for us and Florida, as our clients are the businesses Florida needs to grow and create jobs.
To accomplish our goals we need your support and help.
Our federal grants are not sufficient to cover special programming; and those funds have decreased over the last few years. However, our work with small businesses continues to generate strong returns for Florida as you can see from our 2009 Statewide Economic Impact. And remember, our counseling is provided free of charge.
Designated as Florida's Principal Provider of Business Assistance by state statute, the Florida SBDC Network is statewide with 35 locations from Pensacola to the Key West. Our Certified Business Analysts (CBAs), Florida's small business professionals, come in contact with nearly 150,000 businesses annually through counseling, training and information requests. The conference brings over 110 certified counselors and professional volunteers together ensuring they have the latest skills and tools needed to meet the ever-changing needs of Florida's small business community. The 2010 conference theme is Survivor: Outplan, Outperform and Outlast; very appropriate for our CBAs, the many Florida small businesses who have Survived, and our important stakeholders.
We are the only statewide organization assisting small businesses-from the dream to inception, through their growth stages and issues. The current economic environment has brought many new businesses to our doors. Staying current arms us to help small businesses outplan, outperform and outlast even in these trying times.
We sincerely hope that you too will invest in Florida's SBDC professionals by sponsoring a portion of the conference.
We are confident that your investment will pay dividends
to your organization as well as to Florida's economy.
